Darren altman, head photographer and owner of d. altz photography first showed interest in photography more than thirty years ago when he was introduced to it through the family business. His father, a well known photographer from Scotland, noticed Darren's unique perspective and natural talent for photography and decided to nurture those talents as best he could. What began as a hobby had grown into a passion by the time he was a teenager. Darren quickly became the studio's main photographer. The studio focused primarily on portraits, special events, glamour, and sports events.

Today, Darren's philosophy of photography is to capture the pure spirit and beauty of life, to tell a story or to create a personality and to communicate an idea through the art of photography. With his distinct style of capturing life he has artistically ingrained the spirit of each image, with genuine imagination and feeling. It is his natural ability and talent to visually communicate any subject through photography in the most aesthetic way that sets him apart from the crowd. Portraits and Nature remain his favorite themes.
